Fabrique des Lumières is the largest digital art centre in the Netherlands, set inside a former gasworks in Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek. Masterpieces are projected onto walls up to 17 metres high, with light, video and sound working together so you walk through the paintings rather than past them. From the Dutch Masters to Monet, the programme changes through the year — come and see it for yourself.
What Your Ticket Includes
Admission to the immersive show you have booked, plus the short studio experience that runs alongside it, and lockers for small personal items. Food, drink and transport are not included.
Age Recommendations
There is no age restriction for the Dutch Masters and Monet programmes, and the venue is a popular family outing. The Dinosaurs experience is recommended for children aged 5 and older.
Best Time to Attend
The 09:30–10:45 Dutch Masters slot is the quietest of the day. Friday and Saturday evenings run latest and are the busiest — book ahead if you want a weekend slot.
Facilities
Lockers for small items, seating inside the projection halls, and the cafés, bars and restaurants of the surrounding Westergasfabriek park a couple of minutes from the door.
Accessibility
The venue is wheelchair accessible throughout the projection halls.

The main show runs for 55 to 60 minutes and loops continuously, so most visitors stay between one and two hours. Plan for around 90 minutes if you want to watch the headline programme through once and still catch the shorter studio experience that runs alongside it.
There is no fixed route and no queue to follow — you sit, stand or walk wherever you like, and many people stay for a second loop simply because they spotted something they missed the first time.
